These floor cushions are made of eco-friendly Hogla Seagrass. They do not only look good, they are also super sustainable. The filling of the cushions are made of recycled cotton and cocos. Hogla is a sustainable material since it is considered as weed; as it grows and multiplies rapidly causing serious problems near the shores. When dried this strong material is woven into beautiful baskets.
The Hogla Floor Cushions are ethically made and sourced in Bangladesh.
All products are handcrafted from 100% natural and eco-friendly materials. They can slightly vary in size, shape and colour but are all 100% original.
Proudcer & origin: The handwoven floor cushions are made by rural men from Bangladesh who travel to the capital city to find work between seeding and harvest time. This producer provides these workers a place to stay, other basic needs and a fair price. This is important because many travel to the capital to find work, get underpaid and have to sleep on the streets. The handwoven recycled cotton is made by a small handloom workshop for women in the Northern part of Bangladesh. This producer is certified Fair Trade according to Ecota Fair Trade Forum in Bangladesh and in process of becoming a WFTO Fair Trade member.
