'Kwera' þýðir 'að klifra' á Tumbuka, tungumáli norður Malawi.

Skartgripirnir frá fjölskyldufyrirtækinu YEWO eru handgerðir úr staðbundnu hráefni í Malawi í suðaustur Afríku. Samfélagsleg ábyrgð er eigendunum ofarlega í huga og halda þau fjölda fólks í stöðugri vinnu á góðum launum, ásamt því að veita starfsmönnum sínum læknisþjónustu, borgað frí og tvær máltíðir á dag.

Efni: Endurunnið messing, 43 cm löng keðja úr antíkgylltu möttu messing með slate (svipar til basalts) eða leirstein, Húðað og nikkelfrítt.

Hálsmenið kemur í handsaumuðum hörpoka með fægipúða.

'Kwera' means 'to climb' in Tumbuka, the language of Northern Malawi.

Featuring either matte Slate or natural Clay, the Kwera necklace comes on a 43 cm long satin gold plated chain. No two pieces are identical— slight variations should be embraced.

The Slate colored stone begins as quarry rock sourced just 1 mile from our workshop. Our team works to shape the stones until they reach a smooth matte finish that showcases its organic origins.

The Clay stone begins as kiln-fired locally sourced clay found in Southern Malawi. We partner with Dedza Pottery to create a naturally toned stone that highlights the richness of the red African soil.

Each unique piece is made by hand in our solar-powered workshop in Malawi. No two pieces are identical— slight variations should be embraced.

Materials: Satin brass, 43 cm satin matte-gold plated brass chain, slate or clay

Every YEWO order comes with a jewelry care card and a hand sewn linen bag.
